Why isn't ZzzCatcher recording my snore events? +
Please verify the following:
1. Confirm that the START button has been clicked. The dashboard should show an active 'Monitoring Duration' timer.
2. Ensure ZzzCatcher has microphone permissions in iOS Settings → ZzzCatcher.
3. Check your TRIP handle. If it's set too high, the sound level may not cross the threshold. For smart AI snore recording, set it to the recommended 90dB.
Do I need to leave my screen active? +
Yes, iOS limits high-performance audio processing for backgrounded apps. We recommend keeping the app in the foreground. To sleep in a dark room without screen light, tap the Moon icon (Blackout Mode) on the dashboard instead of locking your phone.
Does video sleep monitoring drain battery? +
Yes. While sound-only monitoring is highly optimized, recording video and processing frames requires significant processing power. We strongly recommend connecting your device to a charger when using Video Mode.
How do I export sleep reports for my doctor? +
Go to your sleep history library, select a session, and tap the Export Report button. The app will generate a clean PDF summary containing snore frequency charts, positions, and sound event indicators that you can email or print.

My Receiver device is not receiving push notifications. Why? +
Check these items:
1. Make sure both devices are linked to the exact same Guardian ID. Double check for typos or spaces.
2. Ensure the Receiver phone has internet access (cellular or Wi-Fi).
3. Verify that push notification permissions are allowed for AlertCatcher on the Receiver.
4. Ensure the Guardian device is actively monitoring and that its decibel bar responds to sounds.
Can I connect multiple Receivers to one Guardian? +
Yes! A single Guardian device can be linked to multiple Receivers simultaneously (for example, two parents monitoring one baby monitor iPad). Just type the identical Guardian ID on all Receiver devices.
What is Blackout Mode and why should I use it? +
iOS disables active microphone sound-analysis and camera feeds if the screen is locked with the side power button. To bypass this, tap the Moon icon to enter Blackout Mode. This blacks out the UI and dims brightness to 0% to save power and keep the room dark, while maintaining active guardian monitoring.
How does the 60-second cooldown in Motion Sentry work? +
To avoid draining your device's battery and filling your device's storage space, Motion Sentry implements a 60-second cooldown after a visual motion trigger. During this time, the app will continue to monitor sounds but will not trigger new motion-based video clips until the cooldown ends.
